Friedrich was born on March 25th, 1868 in Wynigen.1   Friedrich's father is Johann Jost and his mother is Anna Beer.  His paternal grandfather is Johann Ulrich Jost; his maternal grandparents were Johann Ulrich Beer and Anna Oppliger.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 88 on June 27th, 1956 in Recherswil.
